Recycled Treasure Box for a Little Boy

Image
I made a decorated treasure box for my niece so of course I made one for my nephew as well. It's easiest to use an old shoebox for this, but I didn't have any of those at hand so I used a copy paper box again. I cut it a bit lower and made the lid a bit looser. And then I glued on magazine pages and smaller magazine clippings with nature and animal pictures on them. And I finally I covered the whole thing with contact paper. Apart from the contact paper, all the materials are free and recycled.

Mallorcan Ceramics in Manacor

Image
The next thing I have to show you from Mallorca is this aborable ceramics store in Manacor, in the east side of Mallorca. The visit was part of an organized trip and the guide called this a "junk store". But I thought these colorful pieces were really cute.

Image
I saw the instructions of this twig heart in some magazine on the plane last spring. There are different types of twig hearts you could make, but I like this one with the curly tail.

Image
La Seu Now that the Madeira posts are done, I'll continue these "travel Mondays" with Mallorca (or Majorca). So these photos are from last May. Our hotel was in Alcudia, which is a beach resort. But we had a one day trip to the capital, Palma. It was an unorganized trip, we just took the bus from Alcudia to Palma (it cost 6 euros). The bus ride took about an hour. It happened to be a cloudier, a bit colder day, so it was very fitting for wandering around the city.

Easter Mail

Image
Easter letter to Singapore / Pääsiäiskirje Singaporeen Is it still Easter mail even if I sent it too late to arrive for Easter? Anyway, I sent these letters at around Easter time and made the envelopes look Eastery. The animal stationery in the first letters is one sided so I'm showing the backside only. I sent a sugar painting with the letter to Singapore and a watercolor card with the letter to Hong Kong. The painting on the card is again inspired by Mauri Kunnas' children's book illustrations. For the letter to Norway, I used scented Diddlina stationery.
