Peacock feather matryoshka doll painting tote bag

More illustrated tote bags! I painted peacock feathers and a matryoshka doll on a black tote bag I had sewn myself. I sketched the image with a white colored pencil and then painted over it using red and white fabric paint and a paint brush. After that the procedure is the same as with this fabric print: let it dry for 24 hours, iron it and wash it. I made this bag in 2011 and it got a lot of use as a beach bag in Egypt that summer.

Hahmottelin kuvat ensin valkoisella värikynällä ja maalasin sitten niiden päälle kangasmaalilla sivellintä käyttäen. Sen jälkeen työvaiheet ovat samat kuin kankaanpainannassa: anna kuivua vuorokauden, silitä ja pese. Tein tämän kassin vuonna 2011 ja sillä oli paljon käyttöä rantakassina Egyptissä sinä kesänä.

How to Transfer Sketch onto Painting Surface

As I've mentioned before, I don't usually draw my sketches for paintings straight onto watercolor paper or canvas. I draw the sketch on a separate paper, where it's easier to erase and clean up the outlines and then transfer the finished sketch onto my painting surface. How to Save Leftover Acrylic Paint for Later

A quick tip on how to save acrylic paint for later! If you mix too much acrylic paint or pour too much paint out of the tube, do you know what to do with the leftover paint? If you're planning to continue painting the next day, you can't just leave it, cause acrylic paint will dry by then.
