Coloring Calendar Printable
I made a coloring calendar for 2017! Ethnic portraits, fashion and jewellery with patterns and flowers in the background for adults and children to color. The images are the same as in the coloring books/pages already sold in my shop, but they're cropped and I added a few tribal and floral backgrounds. The name of the month is outlined and can be colored in, too. The calendar is an instant download printable so it would work well as a last minute Christmas present. You can check it out in my Etsy shop.
I'm giving the January page with an Africa girl wearing a patterned turban as a freebie for my email list subscribers soon, so make sure to sign up to get it!
How to Make a Coloring Calendar
I made this calendar in Microsoft Word and GIMP. I made table in Word and filled it with the weekdays and day numbers. I tried to choose a fitting picture for each month. An Indian girl for March in celebration of Holi, a Muslim girl for June for al-Fitr, and a sugar skull girl for October for Día de Muertos. Of course, some celebrations overlap and for some months, I couldn't think of anything.
I cropped the coloring pages in GIMP to fit into the A4 page with the calendar template and added them into the Word document and finally turned it into a PDF and tested that it prints fine. Here's a small preview of the whole calendar:
If you're looking for coloring inspiration, watch how I colored the January page with Stabilo pens, highlighters and pastel pencils. The highlighters worked pretty well for covering larger areas and I kind of want to do the highlighter challenge now.
